No backup plan at 1B is why they're losing? Toro has actually been good, and Casas was awful in the first place.

Toro's 3 HR are almost 10% of of Major League career total. Breslow banked on Casas even after his injury last year - and before the injury, he was not great. Same this year, we agree on that for sure.

The Red Sox are, “ruining my summah!”

Old Big Show folks will remember that line.

Seriously though, I’m willing to watch on TV or listen on the radio but I’m not spending hard earned money at the ballpark. Tickets are pricey, the food and drink situation is nuts as far as cost goes, it’s not worth the drive, the parking prices or the cost of dinner beforehand. Not playing like this.

I'm not a fan of workout reports, I do everything myself. Anyone using mass produced workout reports will only end up in the same boat as everyone else, which is not where you want to be in a pari-mutuel market. Besides, I trust my own eyes much more than anyone else's (see my Sunday write-up for one recent example).

ENDORSE (8/5 ml) can run in Race 2 at Saratoga today. Still looking at some of the others to gauge competition, but she looks tough to beat and should be playable thanks to the large field.

Yeah, workout reports look solid, PH. Good luck today and this weekend.

RAGTIME winning in Race 2 was actually a very interesting result. She had gotten crushed in a March workout by PRINCESS PROUD, whom I picked on April 24 at Keeneland at 15/1 ml odds, somehow went off at 19/1 odds but flopped. She hasn't run back yet (although is in steady training at Churchill; I need to look at that now). Have to imagine she'll be a similarly large price again in start #2 (if warranting a play; yet to be decided). Anyway, sorry for the loser on ENDORSE. Hopefully more luck later on the card if I spot anything in the latter two maiden races (which is generally what I focus on, unraced 2yo's and 3yo's, following up the ladder whenever needed (like with ANCIENT WORLD on that same April 24 Keeneland card). Good luck this weekend, and if anyone here needs free Saratoga write-ups I'll be sampling those for a while. Maybe even through the real Saratoga meet (mid-July), which is when the fun really starts. Much more fun than the Triple Crown races, where all the horses are more or less known commodities (therefore offering less edge, generally speaking). Saratoga 2yo racing is the absolute highlight of the entire racing calendar, imo. Always lots going on there.

Hi Mike.... I actually bought a Smart Bird Feeder for my wife last year to use at our Cape Home...and to make a long story short...It is currently in my Basement ! For an entire summer I tried to put it around my yard/house....on my shed, on an 8 foot pole with a Cone device in the middle of my yard , off my deck ...No matter where I put it, the Squirrels were able to get to it and eat all the Bird Feed ! It was great for a few hours watching the birds, but the Squirrels did me in !!!!

Saratoga - Race 8

#11 KULAPAT (8/1 ml)

Interesting longshot for Bill Mott. This Bernardini/Med d’Oro colt showed nothing in his first three dirt starts at Aqueduct, but then switched to turf last time and ran a nice third at 33/1 odds, beaten three lengths by UNCATALYZED. Since that race, KULAPAT returned to work with TAP TO MISCHIEF, who won his only career start last summer at 13/1 odds with today’s rider Jose Lezcano aboard. Most recently, KULAPAT worked with CAPITOL HILL (1-for-3 lifetime), who was last seen finishing a good fourth (beaten 2.5 lengths) in a tough Keeneland turf allowance from which second-place finisher KING OF ASHES returned to run another big second at Churchill Downs last week (beaten a neck a 16/1 odds). Seems likely to run well here at at a solid price.
