There was no retweet (rexeet?) of our Two Minute Pick from Thursday. No celebration. No parade of ✅✅✅✅✅all over social media.
We’ll take the win with our pick of # 5 It Takes Heart in Race 3. The filly romped home by over nine lengths - one of the easier winners of the meet so far at Saratoga.
Scatches made her job easier but also hurt our price. She went off as the second choice at 2-1, returning $6, $3 and $2.70 in the WPS pools, respectively. We’re not going to retire early on those types of winners.
But it does reinforce that trainer stats can really point to you clues at the toughest meet in racing. Trainer Jose D’Angelo pulled this type of move at Saratoga last year and had won with these types at over 24% the last five years. He’s now 6 for 14 (42%) when he calls on Luis Saez in claiming races over that same timeframe. That last one is something to watch as we move forward with this meet. Maybe at Gulfstream this winter, too.
BIG weekend of racing in Saratoga. And we’ve teamed up with NYRA Bets to give new users a great deal this and every day at Saratoga.

We’ll try to make it two in a row for Two Minute Picks - Presented by NYRA Bets.
Another beautiful thumbnail.
As for the Friday race card, I like #5 Ryvit to wire them in the Amsterdam.
Some #buzz in Race 1 for #4 Aggelos the Great.
Thought #3 I Run in Race 8 was worth including in trifecta tickets at a price. Wish the Joe Sharp barn was hotter. Why is #9 Prove Right being offered for a tag there?
#1 Timo in the finale is ready to finally win. Trainer big numbers on this move. Was almost my official Two Minute Pick.
Full day tomorrow with Jim Dandy thoughts with Parx’s Jessica Paquette.
What a field.
From my Friday Four-Pack today.
#1 Disarm - A huge fourth in the Derby when rushed into the race. Crushed in the Matt Winn last time, beating the horses that ran 1-2 in the Indiana Derby in their next race.
#2 - Forte - Two-year-old champ ran big in his Belmont comeback. Gets blinkers for this race and has been training like a monster.
#3 Hit Show - Part of the pace in the Derby and still held fifth.
#4 - Saudi Crown - Surprise entrant in here is quick from the gate and ensures no easy lead or Forte.
#5 - Angel of Empire - Third of three in here for Brad Cox. Our Derby pick will be coming late.
A star-studded group. In fact, three of the top four in the 113th Annual MutStack.com Rest of Season 3-year-old Power Rankings.
Forte
Disarm

I’m playing in the NYRA feeder for the big tourney tomorrow, so wish me luck.
And good luck if you’re playing!
