Bombs away to close the Thursday card at Saratoga
Was starting to count my money if we’re being honest.
Played the Late Pick 5 Thursday at Saratoga.
Singled the winner in the first leg, then got two more low-priced A’s home in the second and third legs.
I had, what I thought, was massive coverage in the last two legs, including pressing our Two-Minute Pick, Kunshan Bridge, in Race 9. But I had the other players on the tickets too and while it didn’t look like a life-changing score, it felt like we had a very good shot to get the money.
Then Locke and Key, with one career placing in his PPs but coming off a win, scored and paid $36 in Race 9. Our Two-Minute Pick running a non-threatening third.
Then in the finale, More Mango scored at 44-1. Should have been like 100-1. $90 winner to cap the day.
Pick 5 dreams dashed. But a Pick 6 carryover into Friday. Silver linings.

Race 1
# 9 Venture is an interesting price based on the morning line. Good works and trainer Al Stall is 3 for 10 at Saratoga in turf sprints over the last five years. 26-1. 3-1. 7-1. Interesting.
Race 5
I would not be singling #5 Locked in the Pick 6. #6 Drum Roll please has worked well and had a trip on debut. A must-use for me.
Race 9
#3 King Moonracer should be flying late and was wide last time at Monmouth. George Weaver has been great in turf sprints - he has won four of them as a trainer this summer at Saratoga.
