Today’s Two Minute Pick - Presented by NYRA Bets

A good Saturday card on paper. Felt like the Late Pick 5 was manageable. Picks for each race are sorted by (Main Players/Backups)

Race 7 - See video above on #5 Lady Milagro. #1 Playlist and #4 Breeze Easy are obvious players. (1,5/4)

Race 8 - This race…tough. I’ll have to spread here a bit in the Pick 5. But I have to use #2 Shotgun Patsy. Was working all spring in Saratoga. Ships to Belmont and Bill Mott calls on a low-profile ride. The horse does no running. Now second off the layoff and Junior Alvarado aboard. Using DRF Formulator Stats, Mott is 9 for 38 (24%) over the last five years second-time starters in a dirt sprint. 10-1 on the morning line - will be watching the daily double will pays and seeing what kind of money he’s taking but he’s an A for me. (2,6,9,10/5,11)

Race 9 - In the Grade 3 Kelso terrific matchup between #2 Annapolis and #8 Casa Creed. A fast pace should set things up for both and slightly prefer Annapolis. #7 Anaconda should also benefit and I would use underneath. Would “press up” Annapolis in the Pick 5. (2,8/7)

Race 10 If #9 Gold Sweep runs back to his Tremont they’re all in trouble. Single ‘A’ for me. Go watch #7 Triple Trea in his debut at Woodbine. That horse was flying home on the synthetic. He looked good and might be one of the few running late. Exacta player for sure. (9)

Race 11 - #2 Beer Run and #4 Flat Top Box both look logical coming out of the same race. The 12 Baie Lounge ran fast last year and now cuts back. If the 13 Alexis Zorba or the #1 Schnittker get in they will be on my tickets. (2,4, 13*/12)

Other ideas on the card

Race 1 - Big buzz on the #1 Pirate.

Race 3 - #7 Heavenly Appointed took a good bump late in her first start and is playable in a wide-open turf MSW.

Race 4 - The Grade One Diana #2 In Italian’s to lose. Curious how the races plays with three other Chad Brown horses in there.

Race 6 - Skullbuster. Thought #11 Waterville was interesting at a price.
