Middlesex County’s Fake Rod Stewart is a local legend.
Rick Larrimore’s Rod Stewart tribute is good enough that about 10 years ago, the husband of one of my mom’s friends hired him as the main entertainment for a big birthday party. An inside source tells MutStack.com that Rick was “awesome.”
Year after year, he is the highlight of the annual Fourth of July Parade in Chelmsford, MA.
Rick rocks.
So it was a little concerning Thursday when Rick Fake Rod did not get off his chair/stool for a second straight year as he went by a large group of adoring fans on North Road.
Fake Rod can dance. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. The ladies love it.
He looked and sounded great Thursday, but there was no crowd dancing…no getting down and into the streets with the people. Hopefully, he was able to jump off the trailer and do his thing later in the parade route.
But Father Time remains undefeated. And one has to wonder if Father Time is winning the battle against Fake Rod’s hips and quads.
The full Friday Four-Pack returns next week.
I’ve read the headlines on the Celtics being for sale, Tatum’s big deal, more sportsbook players being limited for winning, and NYRA deciding to go all-synthetic in the winter. But truth be told I’ve been too immersed in the woods of New Hampshire to execute the deep dive.
I’ve included some highlights of a fun few days below, including a great Friday night with Hall of Famer Ty Law at The Brook Casino. He was awesome - thanks to everyone who came by.
The week-long adventure was cut short for good reason - a trip to the Massachusetts 2024 Cal Ripken Little League State Tournament. If you see a balding newsletter publisher cheering like a lunatic for Chelmsford over the next week at Little Fenway in Freetown, MA, well, guilty as charged.
Thanks for reading MutStack and The Friday Four-Pack over what has now been 75 weeks of publishing. A lot of cool stuff is coming for subscribers - including Saratoga coverage starting next week.
Hope you’re able to enjoy some time with family and friends over the next few days. Back to full form next week.
Good weekend.

Your intro for Ty Law was genuinely excellent. Had us ready to purchase a #24 jersey. Top tier stuff.
Also, hopefully you caught the mutstack shout out we dropped in this week’s edition of our blog.
Thanks for giving me one of the only consistent things in my life the last year or so, lol.
Heard they had another horse racing meeting with the town selectmen in Gardner and Winchendon, not quite sure what happened. Something to keep an eye on.
