Mut, you stayed true to your roots with some good radio content and I can tell how happy you are to be a Barstool employee. I had assumed you just didn’t want to work for Kirk specifically (man goes through producers at a prodigious rate), so this seems like it is on YOUR terms.

As for your radio notes, I am genuinely surprised sports radio seems to be officially dying in Boston. It isn’t just that Felger and Mazz lost to a crappy classic rock station, but that their EEI competition is putting up community college radio numbers. At this point what can any of them change? Do they just ride it out as long as they can?

Who do you really think is a needle mover for the market at this point that they can bring in? What is the shift? I personally thought Carrabis should have been it, but they never even took a chance. And if the argument against him is he’s too monocultured, look at Greg friggen Hill.

It is a shame, sports radio used to be so much fun 10-12 years ago. WEEI had all my favorite dudes, and I would call in frequently and have great conversations. Not a single person I listened to or chatted with works at WEEI anymore. I completely stopped after Mut said he was not getting renewed, after a bunch of others to I believe. I don't know the decision behind that and never will. If whoever did make that decision, they should look at this MutStack's history and the loyalty we all have shown the MutMan. WEEI has legit been unlistenable since then. Only red sox broadcasts keep them in business IMO.

Ever since WAAF became a Christian rock station, radio has been dead in MA. Greg Hill was past his prime before he was even hired at EEI and I know, I tried to listen but I think Spaz would be more entertaining at this point.

I stil listen to both stations, but they don't matter like they used to. IF a Boston teams wins again, that would help both stations.

I don't know, Dan. But the guy in charge has been in radio for 30 years. What he has now is not working and he's being stubborn OR has been told he can't spend. The numbers tomorrow will be shocking. Well, maybe.

The Viking was probably right. He sounds like a good man.

The Tuna deserved that red jacket a long time ago. He made this organization relevant

I made a Barstool account just to follow you, my job makes it hard to catch things live or shortly after they post, I still have my goal of chit chatting with you sometime soon.

Dave has given you a great opportunity and he shall soon see the loyalty of this fanbase. IDC if anyone thinks you're boring (you're not), you are the MUTMAN. Ever since I got my first car, I was the only teenager to listen to sports radio out of my friend group, and I will always remember our first conversation in the Mut & Merloni days. I remember Chris Villani and our frequent weekend conversations. My first ever call in was to John Ryder, loved it. Especially hearing my awful voice on the radio.

I almost religiously listened to you, no matter where they stuck you. We've spoken and my goodness I hope you've forgotten my voice, all those ciggie butts fucked it up lol.

I would love to "pledge" but now since you make about $20,000 more per year than I do, I should be getting the pledge, lol jk.

I have tried to get into the horse stuff but, my brain only has room for so many sports and activities. I do like your writing style regardless.

Quite frankly, I can't think of a single thing I ever strongly disagreed with your opinion on anything, and I cannot say that about anyone else. We really see things through the same lens on many topics. I still would love to meet you one day and grab a drink. I am hoping Barstool gives you and I more opportunities but, we shall see.

I am happy for you, I hope Dave treats you well and I along with your MutStackers will always support you.

Sorry about the essay but, I am just really happy for you and as I said before, I can have a shitty week and I always have a Friday email to look forward too, even if I am behind on reading it lol.

You're the real deal Mut, I hope things continue to go well for you and your family.

I suck ass at betting lol, it is almost embarrassing, but I can't resist parlays lol and you've learnt me some.

Take care, good looks and hope to catch you soon.

WEEI not making an afternoon change makes sense when you consider it was designed as a football show, but when it's clear that even in season that the show doesn't work, it's time to pull the plug
