168 days.
That was the final lifespan of The Rich Shertenlib Show on Boston’s Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX.
When Rich Shertenlieb left one of the most successful morning radio shows in the history of Boston, I would not say expectations were “high.”
But they were certainly higher than THAT.
Rich said goodbye on social media Monday night, but many questions remain after his show was axed after less than six months. Especially considering some of his co-hosts - that he brought in - might stay on for whatever is next on WZLX.
So what happened? Who is to blame? What’s next for WZLX? And what about Shertenlieb?
Longtime WEEI host and now the host of The Kirk Minihane Show, Kirk Minihane, joined me for a MutStack Podcast to react to one of the bigger radio stories in Boston over the last 10 years.
We eventually discuss the current state of Boston radio towards the end of the episode.
Be advised the episode contains profanity because indeed, we are both adults.
I’m sure we’ll have updates in this week’s Friday Four-Pack. Subscribe for free to stay updated and support MutStack.com
Thanks for listening.
